Music: Kelly Clarkson

Driving home this morning I found myself screaming to the top of my lungs Since You’ve Been Gone. It made me want to run into my place and find Kelly on my Ipod. As I hit the showers I let her second album Breakaway play and I remembered how much I loved her music.

People can sleep on Kelly if they want to but she is definitely the best American Idol winner so far. Ok, I may be a little bias because she is from Texas (DFW area to be exact), but the girl has a beautiful voice. She took the AI access and stormed through the charts with hit after hit after hit. She has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Eight singles have been on the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. She also won 2 grammys and 4 American Music Awards. She has proven that she more than deserved her success and popularity.

Testament to her greatness: I was in Palm Springs a few years ago at a party. It was a big mixed crowd of women from all over the country–black, white and everything else in between. When Kelly’s joint came on everybody started jumping up and down screaming to the top of their lungs like she was on stage.

Anyway, just thought I’d share. Yall know how I am about music. KC brightened up my morning and made it better.
