Sarah Palin is not fit nor qualified to be a heartbeat away from being the POTUS. Her gender is a DISTRACTION and in this election her only and most important credential.

OVARIES = VICE PRESIDENT material

I stole these from the Daily Kos. I thought I’d share:

TOP TEN REASONS SARAH PALIN SHOULD NOT BE ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT

#1: Palin opposes a woman’s right to choose what to do with her own body, opposing the right to an abortion even for rape victims.

#2: Palin believes that Creationism should be taught in public schools, which runs both counter to well-settled evolutionary science, and to the Constitutional separation of church and state.

#3: Palin is a global warming denier, who (as with her views on evolution) has expressed skepticism about the well-settled science.

#4: Palin opposes listing polar bears as an endangered species, because it means oil and gas companies might have to be just a little bit careful out there.

#5: Palin is rabidly dedicated to drilling in the Artic wildlife refuge, known as ANWR.

#6: Palin is in the midst of a growing ethics scandal, involving the alleged abuse of her gubernatorial power to punish a State Trooper who is her sister’s ex-husband, firing a State Commissioner who refused to go along.

#7: Palin called Hillary Clinton a “whiner”, even as she cynically tries to woo Clinton voters to the McCain ticket.

#8: Palin has very little experience for the Vice Presidential job, serving less than two years so far of her first term as Governor of a state with fewer residents than Fort Worth, Texas. (Previously, she was Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, pop. 8,500.)

#9: Palin has no foreign policy experience at all, so little in fact that her supporters are reduced to citing Alaska’s proximity to Russia.

#10: Palin is virtually untested, unvetted and unknown to Americans, a fact which throws into relief the hypocrisy of the many unfair criticisms leveled at Barack Obama during this campaign.

BONUS REASON, #11: Palin only recently said that she doesn’t even know what the job entails, saying on the CNBC show Kudlow and Co. that:

“[A]s for that V.P. talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the V.P. does every day?” (July 2008)

I cannot believe that the conservatives and the media are embracing the choice of John McCain to have Sarah Palin to as his running mate and to be the Vice President of the United States of America.

America the stupid!

Boy I tell ya. You have a brilliant, intelligent, thoughtful, moral and God-fearing man with a beautiful family and wife who is educated, strong and beautiful and they have to compete with the likes of Sarah Palin and John McCain.

This woman is not qualified to be the Vice President of the USA. Period, the end. She is a soccer mom with a degree in JOURNALISM. I have more education than her!!! She minored in Political Science. Wow!!!

A person with a degree in journalism could be the leader of the FREE  WORLD!?!?!  Perfect! She’ll meet with world leaders and be able to do what? Nothing.

McCain is pandering to the women of this country who may be bitter or upset that they are not included in politics or treated equally in the workplace. Listen up women! SHE IS NO HILARY R. CLINTON. She is cheerleader. McCain picked a fan, not an equal partner. She has no international experience. She was just fawning all over him. No independence. Given McCain’s temper, I’m sure Sarah Palin probably won’t challenge John McCain on any substantive issues. The McCain camp cannot win on the issues. They have to bank on the stupidity of this country to vote for someone they want to have a beer with. Sorry, but I do NOT want a soccer mom leading my country. I do not want a journalist ex-city council woman to lead my country. I do not want a governor of a state filled with more ice than people to lead my country. I want someone with substance. Not a beauty queen who hates woman’s rights.

My stomach hurts. America the stupid does it again. The GOP knows exactly how to woo them. I’ll post more later. Admittedly, I am a bit overwhelmed at this point.

For now, read under the cut for her resume. (Oh yeah, she was also a beauty queen)…

Whenever I am down about something my mom would always say something like there are no mistakes in life and there is nothing that you could have done that is too big to correct if you still have LIFE (When I typed that I heard JoJo and K-Ci screaming LIFE LIFE! lol) . She says that LIFE is all about the possibilities and the second chances to get it right.

Anyway, the point of this post IS to say that the clouds have dissipated and I am in love with my life right now. I had a few cloudy days but I’m BACK people. I have had the BEST week (like EVER–insert Valley Girl voice here.)

I am so fortunate to a nice career, bills paid, no drama, my favorite car and living in my favorite part of Atlanta. I have friends that are like blood to me. They will cut you if you mess with me! I have a few fine lady friends (as my daddy likes to call them) that smile at me when I need them to with no drama and letting everything flow. (Friends man) Most importantly, I have ME!

I took a walk today to grab lunch and it just hit me–I have LIFE and I’m sooo happy.

Thank you very much!

Whatever you do…DO NOT BUY, USE or even LOOK AT a Blackberry phone. EVER! They are the worse! I spent 4 hours today on the phone with Blackberry & Sprint trying to get rid of my Blackberry Pearl. I wake up every couple of days lately to an empty inbox in my email, text messages and my call log. People are texting me and I don’t get them. People send emails and I don’t get them! It’s causing drama in my social life man! Singleship is no fun when your phone is not working properly!!!

This reminds me of when I told my parents that I was going BACK to grad school and quitting my job.  Watch how Claire flips out on Sondra. I love when she said, “You owe us $79,648.22 and I want my money NOW!” Classic!

I LOVE this song!!! I get real GIRLY when it comes on. It reminds me of It’s Not Right by Whitney Houston.  It’s all sassy and -ish. I find myself wanting to twirl or sing as I walk down Peachtree. Yeah, I know. Girly! LOL Anyway, I play it over and over again like it is going out of style YO!

Jennifer Hudson is doing her thing. (Gosh, I love brown girls in yellow. Muy bonita!) I cannot wait until her album drops. Her voice is just so cripsy souful. Yeah, I just made that up but it fits. She has the voice like Aretha but it’s cripsy enough to make it pop and crossover.

For some reason she makes me proud. Not sure why? It’s not like I know her but I feel like she’s making her own lane and it’s so riiight. Video under the cut…

You motivate me and I want you to know that I admire you and I’m extremely thankful that you are in my life. You constantly add, add and add to my existence and I love you like a sister. Four or five years ago we stumbled upon each other’s journals and took a front seat into each other’s lives. Hundreds of miles away we would leave comments of encouragement or what I like to call ‘real talk.’ Eventually we started chatting. I have the memory of an elephant, but for the life of me I cannot remember the details of how we got so cool. I do know that we kept in touch on a regular basis. It was never forced and always mutual.

We came from different backgrounds and different parts of the country. Our only bond was that we were brown girls and a little gay. Oh yeah, and we had this narcissitic need to share our lives with strangers via a journal.

I moved to Atlanta and we eventually met. I don’t remember that either. haha! We never hung out. I was too busy chasing or running from women and was always boo’d up and she was probably doing the same. But we stayed in touch via online. Many heartfelt IM conversations about our love lives, our careers, family and whatever else was going on with us at the time. In the past couple of years or so we have merged this online friendship into a real live regardless crew. Take that, take that!

She is younger than me but I look up to her in many ways. I tell her that her steps have been ordered and her life has been designed to lead and to defy all odds. She has been through so much and you would never know by the way she walks, talks and carries herself. She is no stranger to hustle. She makes ambition look weak. She goes hard and playsfor keeps but she is always fair. She is always ready to give you that good advice–real talk? Yes, REAL talk. She tells me about myself and calls me on my shit but lovingly. She loves and accepts who I chose to love and accept. She is the only one that can down 6 shots in 15 with me and still stand. She can flow in any crowd with me. She is my roll out partner in crime. When I’m in the dirty she covers for me (or I come up missing for an hour or so, ahem..lol). We’re wing partners son! She knows when to talk and when to listen. She makes me dinner and puts it in a brown paper bag yo! Who does that?!?! My buddy!

And I will kill the fool that would ever step to her and do her harm. REAL TALK!

(ok, I’m not into violence but I will talk about you real bad and make you feel like sh**…how’s that?)

Anyway, I just want to acknowledge the impact she has on my world.

Alexia–You’re my she-RO! I’m proud to call you my sister, my boo, my friend…I love you!

This confession reminds me of Kanye’s Big Brother

“…If you admire somebody you should go ahead and tell em. People never get the flowers while they can still smell…”

Song under the cut…

And here it is folks.

For those of you that have been privileged by the company of me in person, I know you have been waiting for a long time to read this post on QA, Queer Adolescence.

So for the past year I have tried to articulate the struggles of my queer peer group. Most of us are either identify as gay or lesbian and are in the age range of late twenties thru early to mid-thirties. We are viable, able bodied, intelligent and overall stable people who have managed to achieve success academically, professionally and socially. However, when it comes to intimate relationships we cannot seem to match or parallel that type of success.

Dating is hard for everyone right? People get together and break up all the time, right? What is so different with us queers? Well, my theory is that queers go through an important transitional phase of growth later in life than their heterosexual peers. While our friends are off married with kids at 27, we are still dating and mating. We are still trying to figure out what works best for us. At this age many of us are still making sense of our sexuality and what that means for us as 50% contributor to a committed relationship. We date with the optimism, naivete and most importantly, the wrecklessness of a 14 year old boy or girl. We do this not because we lack common sense, however we do lack the time for full development into the people we should be due to our sexuality.

I think back on my childhood and I can barely remember a crush that was not a girl. Okay, one guy. His name was James Mitchell. I wanted to have twins with him. I was going to name them James and Jasmine. Yes, I know. I always take it a step too far.

So today at work I saw this woman that I had a crush on a couple of years ago. I loved her hair. I’m a sucker for curly hair and purdy teeth. Oh and a drive, some ambition and nice lips. Ok, where was I going with this?Oh yeah, my crush. She is in town for our management meetings this week. She saw me and gave me the biggest smile from across the room. If she only knew that I wanted to throw her down on a table a couple of years ago. (Smile)

It got me to thinking about my childhood crushes. I used to be in love with this girl Nesha. She was prettiest brown girl in my class. We became best friends around the 2nd grade and stayed cool until junior high. I think she was crushing back because she would always tell me she loved me like more than her boyfriend. We would pretend to be girlfriends. It is funny now because we did not know what we were doing. Anyway…under the cut are my tv childhood crushes…
