religion

Last night we checked out On Demand and found this documentary. I have been wanting to see this for like EVER. Anyway, Bill Maher does an excellent job at making us look at religion for what it really is—MANmade propaganda.

Check it out. Even if you are a super religious person you should be afraid of what your leaders say and what they do NOT know how much they are proud of it.

I wanted to share this clip. Dude is sooo sick with it. He makes me want to run to my keyboard and create something.

Again…go get this album.

Guys, I have tried to hold it in as long as I could, but there is something about that little Smith child that I do not like! He just looks like a jerk! That curly hair and ice scream skater look is quite annoying and it looks forced. I hate to pick on the kids but this boy is going to need a lot of therapy when he realizes that he’s a lame in his late twenties. Yes, it will take that long.

You’re trying too hard son. We don’t believe you! YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE!!!

So the question of the week has been, “What do you want to do for your birthday?” This is quickly followed by what do you want for your birthday?

Tough one.

Seriously, I have no REAL desire for anyTHING. I cannot really think of anything that I really really want. My mom says that’s what blessed looks like.  I agree.

Besides what I want no one could really afford. To be completely honest what I really really want is not for sell (another post for another time).

Lately I have found myself trying to think of stuff I’d think it’d be cool to have so I can answer the question.

So I just told my ace that I wanted MOONWALKER on DVD. She never even heard of it. Can you believe that?

OMG, this was my most favorite thing EVER!!!!! I used to watch this everyday after school like the dork that I am.

So I’m getting Moonwalker! And my other friend says she’s getting me a Burger King crown and driving me around all day like the Quing I am!

I heart Sally Field. She is one of the best actors out there. I have loved her since Gidget. No lie.

Steel Magnoliasis the one of those movies that I watch over and over and over again. I’m no cry baby, but I feel my eyes stinging every time I watch the funeral scene. The bond between a mother and a child is irreplaceable. I know from personal experience.  I have heard that the lost of a child is indescribable and Sally Field nails that emotion in this movie. I wish I could find the part right before this part when she explodes when someone asks her if she’s “fine.” The monologue is just so well written.

Here is the gut-wrenching scene:

A must see!!! Look at the state of our education system and the conservative’s answer to it. Check out the results.

I love documentaries. I can watch them ALL day. I have watched Joe Louis: An American Hero Betrayed on HBO for a month now. Every time it comes on I am glued to the screen. It is amazing how much Black American History gets lost in the trenches even amongst Black Americans. I remember how angry I felt when I walked out of The Great Debaters being from Texas and never hearing such a great story.

Anyway, if you have an opportunity to catch this documentary about Joe Louis on HBO you should. Here is a brief synopsis of what you will learn:

I’m sure I am not the only with one who has a list of certain movies that come on that puuuull you in. This is not necessarily a bad thing unless you work from home. Here’s a list of movies that always seem to grab my attention and rob me of my precious time over and over again…

The movies are under the cut… Read More »

I got caught up watching the movie The Break-Up. I have seen a couple of times before but there is something about this movie that sucks me in and holds me to wasting a couple of hours. I hate the way it ends. I feel that the guy and the girl really loved each other. It seemed like a waste that it had to end that way.

Ah, I guess that’s life. It is so crazy to spend that kind of time with someone and to see them on the street to treat them like a perfect stranger. They both looked happy but you could see that little question of doubt in their eyes. For some reason the end leaves me feeling uncomfortable, but I always watch…

Break-ups suck. So much time wasted. If only Jen and Vince’s characters could just see the end of the movie like I can. They could have avoided all the drama or maybe they could have realized what they had before they messed it up? I don’t know. But then again who knows? But wouldn’t it be cool to have your life on DVD. Oh, I would have to have alternate endings of course! Let’s say that sometime around  your 16th birthday your parents hand you a box and it reads, This is your Life on DVD (mine would be high-definition :-) ). The only catch is that you get to take a look that one time. You could avoid a few heartaches AND a few headaches.

Ooohhh, what would you go back and change? Who would you avoid? I have a few people in mind, haha!

Ok, random post. It’s my blog and I can post if I want to!
