A black president walking in the streets and he’s NEVAH SKUURED!!! Wow.
I have to admit to cranking that song up really loud when I crusing through the streets of Atlanta. Even last night the wife and I were doing a little jig to it. There is something empowering about witnessing something like this. You cannot just allow this moment to pass without really celebrating and being in the moment.

At dinner last night we talked about what this means and how we feel about Barack Obama being our new president. It dawned on me then that my excitement is not because he is black but more because he is REAL. We finally have a leader that understands what is it like to get up and go to work everyday. A leader that shops in the grocery store and knows how much things costs. A leader who was raised by a single parent on a single parent income. A leader who knows what it is like to be an outcast and to be different. A leader who understands the challenges of wearing the skin of darker shade but does not let that confine or limit him. A leader that understands that the help and support he received is needed by others.
I have 100% confidence that Barack will lead from the perspective of the common man destined for greatness. He will choose policies that will open the door so that people willing to work and sacrifice will be able to walk in and stay there. There is enough opportunity for everyone.
The next four years will be tough. I know. But knowing that President Obama is in office gives me a sense of peace and encouragement for what is to come.
No words.

I woke up this morning and I asked my wife if it was real. She gave me a good morning squeeze and kiss and said, Yes!
Wow.
Last night I was so excited I ran out onto our patio and this guy hopped out of his car and screamed, “Did we win?” I screamed back to him from the fifth floor, “YEEEES!” It was such a surreal moment. As he spoke I felt a cool but calming chill up my spine. Today is the FIRST day I have ever been really proud of my country.
President Barack Obama.
Change has already come…Let’s get ready to work people!
My girl always says that words have power. So since McCain’s camp wants to trash Senator Obama’s name I decided to share the meaning of his name.
Barack is a Semitic word meaning “to bless” as a verb or “blessing” as a noun. In its Hebrew form, barak, it is found all through the Bible. It first occurs in Genesis 1:22: “And God blessed (ḇāreḵə ) them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.”
Here is a list of how many times barak appears in each book of the Bible.
Now let us take the name “Hussein.” It is from the Semitic word, hasan, meaning “good” or “handsome.” Husayn is the diminutive, affectionate form.

GREAT VIDEO!!!
Senator Joe Biden was masterful last night. He held his composure and he answered the questions asked by the moderator. Governor Palin answered the questions that were in her head. She had five or six GOP talking that she tried to fit to every question or discussion. She is clearly not ready for the task of VP. My favorite part of the debate was when Senator Biden respectfully dismissed the Maverickness of John McCain.
John McCain: A maverick he is not. Go JOE!
COURIC: You’ve said, quote, “John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business.” Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?
PALIN: I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie–that, that’s paramount. That’s more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.
COURIC: But he’s been in Congress for 26 years. He’s been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.
PALIN: He’s also known as the maverick though. Taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he’s been talking about–the need to reform government.
COURIC: I’m just going to ask you one more time, not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation?
PALIN: I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring them to you.
I do not have time to write about this but the article below speaks to the many recent conversations I have had with my peers in regards to Sarah Palin’s nomination. If she was not white, she would not be in the running for Vice President of the United States of America.
She has little to no real executive experience. Absolutely no foreign policy experience for sure. She is governor of the largest state in the US landscape wise, but not people. She has a BA in Journalism from a subpar college in Idaho. She is married to a non-educated fisherman with five children. She is all hat and no cattle, ya dig? If she was not white, she would be at home sleep.
This article lays our the privilege. Imagine a Black person with her resume running for one of the two highest offices on the planet. Yeah, exactly—you can’t.
