She plays to win!

I have to admit that actually yelled yeeeeess when I saw the commercial of the preview of Season 4 of the Hills which is airing on March 24th! Because I am so cool this temporary moment of lameness doesn’t worry me. So fret not people! Cool status is still checking out okay.
I have not been watching television over the past couple of months. In general tv sucks so when you lack time it just is not that big of a deal. However, I have a weakness for The Hills. I know, I know! But it is addictive…
There is no Obama slant here at LJ—just love.
It looks like he’s holding back. Something tells me Barack and Michelle drop it like it’s hot at home behind close doors.
I do not think we’ll ever see Barack dance on the North Portico of the White House. EVER! Can you just imagine the headlines?
You Can’t Touch This: First African American busts a move on the White House lawn!
Obama is losing in the following demographics:
1. White women
2. Latinos
3. Less educated
Well, do I really HAVE to say it?
*drops mic*
So I’m a JJ fan ok! I can find something on every single album that I love. The last two releases were a bit forced and unfortunately this one is too. I am still at a lost at why Janet feels the need to fill space with the numerous interludes. It makes her work harder to listen to in it’s entirety. I find myself still lost when I hear voices after a nice hard groove. It is like, “Now we’re going to do a song about going out and dancing!” Then 1:32 seconds later, the next song entitled, “Going out and dancing” comes on. It is a bit elementary but definitely a JJ trademark.
However, I love the woman. She has provided me two decades of music that I adore and dance to. The last album was definitely a club banger. You know us gays love our dance music. I am personally a fan of house music so she touched a soft spot with me with the track, Rock with You. Not only did she invoke some MJ nostalgia, but she housed it better than some of my favorite electronica/house artists. Blue Six eat your heart out!
Janet’s voice is never the reason why I love her albums. It is usually the music and her style. This cd is worth downloading for getting ready to hit the clubs. You will definitely gain a gay boy friend if you have this in your collection. What gay boy doesn’t love Ms. Jackson? And what is life without a gay boyfriend—boring.
I am glad to see that MTV seems to have thrown out the white flag. All she needs is promotion. Janet is NOTHING without a music video and a hot tour.
Can’t wait to catch her on a road. There is NOTHING like a Janet Jackson show!
Obama introduced ten bills/amendments, including one amendment that passed: S.AMDT.1041 to S.1082 To improve the safety and efficacy of genetic tests.
Other issues addressed in his proposed health care legislation were AIDS research (S.823 ), hospital report cards (S.692 — the V.A., and S.1824 — Medicare), better emergency care (S.1873), and drug price controls (S.2347).
Clinton introduced many more bills that included:
S.CON.RES.63 : A concurrent resolution expressing the sense of the Congress regarding the need for additional research into the chronic neurological condition hydrocephalus, and for other purposes.
S.RES.176 : A resolution recognizing April 30, 2007, as “National Healthy Schools Day”.
S.RES.222 : A resolution supporting the goals and ideals of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
S.201 : A bill to establish a grant program for individuals still suffering health effects as a result of the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York City and at the Pentagon.
S.907 : A bill to establish an Advisory Committee on Gestational Diabetes, to provide grants to better understand and reduce gestational diabetes, and for other purposes.
S.993 : A bill to improve pediatric research.
S.982 : A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide for integration of mental health services and mental health treatment outreach teams, and for other purposes.
S.1065 : A bill to improve the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic brain injury in members and former members of the Armed Forces, to review and expand telehealth and telemental health programs of the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.
S.1075 : A bill to amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to expand access to contraceptive services for women and men under the Medicaid program, help low income women and couples prevent unintended pregnancies and reduce abortion, and for other purposes.
S.1343 : A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act with respect to prevention and treatment of diabetes, and for other purposes.
S.1712 : A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to improve newborn screening activities, and for other purposes.
Her bills are bit fluffy. There are some good ones there but a lot more fluff. BTW, none of her bills passed. Sorry.
Obama authored 4 bills on energy including:
• S.1151 : A bill to provide incentives to the auto industry to accelerate efforts to develop more energy-efficient vehicles to lessen dependence on oil;
•S.115 : A bill to suspend royalty relief, to repeal certain provisions of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, and to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal certain tax incentives for the oil and gas industry;
•S.133 : A bill to promote the national security and stability of the economy of the United States by reducing the dependence of the United States on oil through the use of alternative fuels and new technology, and for other purposes.
Co-sponsored: Harkin, Lugar and Salazar
Clinton had only one bill that I could find that addressed the same issue, S.701 : A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to impose a temporary oil profit fee and to use the proceeds of the fee collected to provide a Strategic Energy Fund and expand certain energy tax incentives, and for other purposes.
Co-sponsored: NONE
Obama wants to “repeal certain tax incentives for the oil and gas industry”.
Clinton sees the answer in a “temporary oil profit fee” and to “expand certain energy tax incentives” for alternative energy.
Clinton seems to be in bed with the corporations.
Obama is working for the people.
Let’s discuss.
Hillary Clinton says that Barack provides empty rhetoric when it comes to addressing the foreclosure crisis in the US.
Hmmm.
Clinton created a bill (S.2114) — A bill to amend the Truth in Lending Act, to provide for enhanced disclosures to consumers and enhanced regulation of mortgage brokers, and for other purposes.
Co-sponsors: NONE
Obama created a bill (S.1222) — A bill to stop mortgage transactions which operate to promote fraud, risk, abuse, and under-development, and for other purposes.
Co-sponsors: Dick Durbin
Conclusion: Clinton is calling for “enhanced disclosures to consumers and enhanced regulation”, while Obama’s bill will “stop mortgage transactions which operate to promote fraud, risk, abuse, and under-development.”
After looking at the two bills, Obama’s appears to be tougher, more directly addressing the problem.
The media should be ON THIS!
Ok ok ok…I have been a little down about Obama not winning Texas. Being that Texas is my home state I had a sliver of hope that my fellow Texans would see through the Clinton machine’s bullshit. I was wrong. What was I thinking? This is the state that elected George W. Bush governor. My bad.
So yes, I was depressed because even though Obama did not lose I knew the Clinton camp (AND the media ) would spin her “winning” into the shift of the momentum tide. Clinton’s complaints about the media favoring Barack won! The media is such a silly high school crowd. Geez! They bought it like Theo bought that Denise could create a replicate Gordon Cotrail silk shirt! Silly boy!
Two things that took Obama down:
1. The media and 2. that Clinton experience argument. We know that the media is stupid so there is no reason to harp on that. However, I do want to address the “experience” argument.
Since when did sleeping (and not well obviously with the numerous affairs) with a former governor and president make you more experienced? Hillary Clinton has only held an elected office for 8 years while Barack has held 12.
Barack 1; Hillary 0
Clinton rides (hehe) the experience of her husbands’ time in the White House. Ok so why will she not publish the records that will show us what she was really up to during those 8 years? Hell, we know what HE was doing! Blue dress. Shout out to Monica Lewinsky!
Barack 2; Hillary 0
Hillary voted for the war in Iraq. Need I say more?
Barack 3; Hillary 0
Barack Obama has passed more progressive legislation in his tenure as an elected official. Approx. 200 bills which include:
1. Healthcare expansion to over 100k people in Illinois.
2. A bill that set up community health centers to serve underserved populations.
3. A bill that provided the earned tax credit to thousands of Illinois families.
4. A bill that reformed the death penalty that had sent innocent people to death row.
5. A bill that banned gifts and meals to lobbyists.
There are many many more.
Barack 4; Hillary 0
I could go on. I just wish the MEDIA would do a better job at looking at the candidates instead of waiting on exciting soundbytes to replay over and over again.
I think they are both compentent senators and viable candidates. The argument should be presented as such. They are both capable, but who will bring forth the most change? Who will be able to rise above partisan bickering and get things accomplish? Who will be able to UNDERSTAND that life of an average American? Who will challenge this country to be the best that it can be.
When I see Barack I see the possibility of change. I see someone requiring me to take an active role in my community, government and this planet to make it better. When I see Hillary I see someone asking me to entrust her with my country’s fate. She is speaking of what SHE can do for us and how SHE can keep us safe. She is not GOD. She is merely one woman trying to convince herself and us that she is what America needs. The citizens are the ruling class in this country and not the politicians. This is not England. We do not need families to rule and dictate where we go. We need new fresh members of society that are not jaded by the laziness and nastiness of D.C. We need someone ready to partner WITH us in order to make this country stand tall again.
Barack is the obvious choice.
